Adidas is into golf too

Are you a huge fan of golfing? I knew many of my relatives and friends are really hoocked with golf but I have yet to find that interest so far... maybe the weather is too hot here... might want to try it when I'm in Perth again as the golf courses there are great!

Not until recently that I learned many old sport brands are into producing golf gears. Even the renown brand for soccer shoes Adidas are going into the market. So, if you want to start your golfing adventure, probably you could get yourself a Adidas golf set to start of. After all it is a popular brand in the sporting goods department.

Need some new luggage

The other day will trying to look for some stuff which I kept inside my old luggage only to realize in horror that a lot of the parts on my beloved luggage has broken. I think most are caused by bad handling by the airport staff as I used it very frequently previously as I traveled a great deal for leisure and work.

I guess it is about time I look for a new one to replace this old one. I'll probably get a luggage sets so I can have different sizes to be used for different travel needs. Need to spend more money again... *sigh*

New sport gears for me

I've been wanting to go for another ski trip at Perisher Blue next year. Not sure if the trip will happen or not but it's always good to draw up a little plan... at least there is something to look forward to.

It has been a few good years since I last skied so I'm kind of out grow all my sport gears and whatever winter clothings I have in my collections. Yeah, I have been putting on weight without realizing... bleh~

Anyway, I thought of shopping for some new volcom clothing to prepare for my ski trip down under next year... hope my wish come true!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I'm a little late to wish all my visitors here... as I have so much things to do and my Internet was down the entire day yesterday so did not get to do much.

Hope all of you had a wonderful and blessed Christmas. I've always love this season but too bad we are not actually 'celebrating' it as this family I married into are not Christians. Well, I just celebrated it with my own little family... guess that is more important.

And in another week we will welcome the new year... another year is coming to an end... how time flies...

May all of you have a Happy and Prosperous Year 2008!

Plan your Valentine now

It is never too early to plan ahead. With St Valentine's Day just two months away, it is not early to plan at all! So, what have you got to surprise your other half this time? Another candle light dinner or just some chocolates with a banquet of flowers? The same old stuff.... rather boring... don't you think so?

Well, since you have about two months, it is about time you plan out something exciting. Have you ever thought of taking your beloved to one of the best vacation that he/she will remember till eternity? Surprise he/she with one of those idyllic Cancun Vacations this Valentine.

I'm sure they will be so thrilled with the experience. Spending quality time together is pure heaven especially you don't have to hear the screaming kids. Karisma Hotels and Resorts is one of the top romantic chain of hotels in Mexico with most of their resorts set along the Riviera Maya of Mexico.

Christmas gifts idea from JewelElegance.com

I know most ladies have a tough time thinking what to get for their hubbies or boyfriends every Christmas as I was feeling the same way. Hubby seemed to have most of the things that I have wanted to get him so that really leave me with not much choice. Too bad hubby don't don jewelry on himself so I can't get those nice men's jewelry for him.

Saw some nice pieces from JewelElegance.com but I don't think I will be getting any of those even I like them so much. Well, that don't means you can't get for yours! Check them out to see if you could find something your hubby or boyfriend may like.

Gaw Dong Jie (Winter Solstice Festival)

If you are of Cantonese decent, today we celebrate 'Gaw Dong' which is the Winter Solstice where to the Cantonese people, it is Christmas today. To us, today is the day we will eat 'tang yuen' or glutinous rice balls in sweeten soup.

I found very interesting excerpt that give detailed explanation on this festival...

According to the western calendar, December 22nd is the shortest day of the year. This winter day and others close to it are marked by many cultural observances around the world. Universally, the Winter Solstice was regarded as the beginning of the annual reawakening of nature. Days would grow longer and the nights shorter. For the Chinese, the Winter Solstice celebrated the beginning of the triumph of Yang over Yin. It was their holiday to celebrate near Christmas.

Have a great Winter Solstice celebration!

These foots are for walking

Too much Christmas shopping and now you feel your foots are aching away? Well, probably it is time to invest in some quality Foot Care Product to soothe those pain. After all, without a pair of good foots, you won't get to enjoy shopping not mentioning those awful blisters that decided to erupt just when you are hot on pursuit for your gifts.

Every year during this period, I will throng the malls looking for gifts for my family, friends and colleagues. I can tell you, these are tough job! And I was lucky my faithful pair of legs are ever so reliable to able to let me walk for hours without resting. I know this is bad for my legs but there's nothing much I can do since Internet shopping was not the 'in' thing then.

Well, at least I have ENGO now, so I am assured that my pair of old faithful are well taken care off.

Geeting a mobile for Ah Beng

Hubby's mobile has been acting up lately as it has aged after more than 5 years in service. I have wanted to get him a new one but he refused. I felt bad that he has to use the temperamental phone which always don't ring when I call.

I am still contemplating in getting a new set for him. Will be looking for an unlocked phone as he often travels so it's good to get one of those. Will drop by some of the mobile shops nearby to check out some of the latest models soon... or maybe I'll just get it online... :)

2 more days to Christmas!

Woooohooooo!!!

In another 2 days it will be Christmas! Oh! How I love that feeling!

Every year I will wait for Christmas as a week after we will be celebrating the new year. It is always great to know we have finally 'complete' the entire year without having any 'bruises' and of course it is a call for celebration!

So, are you done with all those Christmas shopping yet? Well, if you have not, hurry up and get them during this weekend! However, the shops and malls will be jam-packed with last minute shoppers!

Have fun!

If you're busy, do it online

I knew there are many busy people especially those who are in the corporate world or stay at home moms like myself who can hardly spend a lot of time away from our 'work' can only dream of doing a post grad unless we take those online degrees. In fact these online studies are the only way we can upgrade ourselves or as personal fulfillment.

There is no doubt that more and more people are depending on online degrees these days to fulfill their dreams of having a post grad degree. They offer more flexibilities to cost wise are more economical as compared to attending bread and mortar universities as we are sure to spend more.

So, if you are thinking of improving your knowledge and still can't a better solutions, probably doing it online is the best option!

Time to clean the air

One of the thing I hated most about staying in this part of the country is that we are always being exposed to bad air quality all because of some inconsiderate people who resorts to burning to clear their rubbish. We already have neighbors trying to clear their rubbish by burning but getting those unhealthy air from neighboring countries can be a real boo-boo.

We get them at least 2 to 3 times a year - the dreaded haze. When times when we have lesser rain falls, the situation can be quite unbearable with air quality drops like nobody business! Sometimes we have trouble breathing and my poor boy will suffer! Not to mention about my hubby who has sinusitis problem... he can be sneezing the whole day!

In fact we are already contemplating of getting one of those dehumidifiers to place in our house. We are expecting those haze to come in another month time... *sigh*

This is where we stayed in Las Vegas

Of all the nice hotels in Vegas we ended up staying at Super 8 Motel. I guessed PiggyBeng booked it as the price for most hotels at that period were pretty costly since it was Halloween Week. The entire Las Vegas was filled with tourist, gamblers and also conference visitors.

Though it is just a motel, we find it quite cosy and very near to The Strip which was just a short walk of 10 minutes away. The plus point is, they have in house laundry service and free use of baby cot for our little boy. It also came with a hearty breakfast so we are fully charged up before we throng and explore Las Vegas!

If your are going to Florida

Many holiday makers especially older folks and group travels tend to go for packaged tours rather than planning their own free and easy holidays to Florida to avoid hassles. However, many do not realize that by going on a packaged tour, they inevitably have to spend more and see less.

There were many folks from the UK who has bad experience with tour agencies as they always given promises but were not fulfilled and many ended up not getting what they were promised. Majority of them has very little control over what they can have as the agents they were with gave this holiday makers very limited choices.

Actually there are many Florida Holiday Villas available that do not cost as much but are offered with better accommodations and at a much cheaper price. If you are going to Florida this winter, get ThinkFlorida.com to be your traveling partner.

No rankings? Who cares?

Were you one of those who has suffered the recent ping-pong session by one of the top search engine company? Mine are badly affected and this mean my earnings are effected too especially from that TigaP network which is still using 'G' ranking when they give out opps.

I don't think I want to be depressed over something like that so I'm not going to mull over this but to move on. I always believe to not put all my eggs into just one basket. I was lucky that I have some really good stuff going and one of them is being a member of Blogs Do Make Money Community. These watches have value

Sometime back I did mentioned about one of my many hobbies. One of them is watch collecting. In my collection, I have normal and sport watches from Swatch and a couple of branded watches too. One of my favorite is Tag. I have wanted to get a silver Rolex too but due to the fact that it's not save to wear here I ditched the idea of buying one.

There are other branded wrist watches which I have wanted to get to add on to my collection. Among them are Omega, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe. These are the watches that have great value even if they are used. I wonder when can I start my collection again...

Finding the perfect home

This question popped up again during one of our recent conversation... when are we going to view more properties? In fact we have not been doing much the past few months and has actually stopped viewing any of the up and coming properties... reason because they are simply too costly though they are not even listed within the luxury real estate category.

I can swear it is never easy to find the perfect home! We wanted good neighborhood, full amenities, within sort drive to the city and etc... All these comes with a price and most often very high price! Well, we are going to wait a little longer before we start another house hunting expedition again.

Spanish speaking?

Most of the sites we visited when we book our hotels are in English and since we only know English it has never been much of a problems to us. However, there are some other nationality who are having problems when their main spoken and written language is not English. This is especially for folks who can only converse in Spanish.

Luckily with Hotels.com, now Spanish speaking folks can make booking in Spanish which is so much better. With their descuento en hoteles in Spanish, most Spanish speaking travelers can have so much ease in making booking for accommodations, deals and packages. The site is a mirror page of the English version one so you don't miss out on anything!

Needed another venue

Yeap... I need another venue to rant and bitch!

Life has not been treating me well enough and I really want to pour them all out... aarrgghhh!
There are some sensitive stuff I want to write about but am afraid people who are close to me or those who are in the discussions will find out....

Password protect? Will that works?

Another rojak post

Ok, I hate to admit that I am lacking the creativity and time to come up with quality post for this site. Major problem - I don't have a camera with me! Yeah, yeah, it's about time to get one for myself but my Finance Minister always want me to cut cost... so less spending if possible.

Thanks you for staying around and read my craps.... :P

It's fair with Fair Credit Credit Cards

With the ever never ending price hike, it is time we be caution when we spend. Every cent saved will accumulate to a huge number though we don't see the saving instantly. At time like these, consumers like you and me will look for ways and alternatives where we can make savings as well as get as much rebates from our purchases.

With the Fair Credit Credit Cards, we can now get more out of our purchases. With rewards comes with each purchases made with the cards we can get more. Also, with the $0 annual fee is another bonus not to mention we get 0% interest for another six months till June 2008.

Hurry and get yours today!

More Cuti-cuti Malaysia?

As the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 (VMY) has been extended to August 2008, maybe it is a good time to visit more places of interest in this 'lovely' country. :P

We have planned to visit Genting again and might also make a drive down to the east coast some where next year since hubby still have lots of annual leaves to clear. Hubby has never been to Kuantan and Cherating so we will see if this plan will materialize after the monsoon season around March.

Probably we will go to Langkawi too if we can get a good deal with Firefly or AirAsia. It has been ages since I last step on the island and it will be fun for my boy too.

Airfare as low as 6 cents!

Do you know that AirAsia is celebrating their 6th Anniversary and is giving out fare as low as 6 cents for some of its flights???

There are more cheap flights for domestic travel as well as flights to some top sites around the region. There are even flights to Gold Coast that cost less than RM500 for one way traveling! Traveling period is from May 08 onwards and good for a few months.

So, if you are planning for vacation next year, do check out these rock bottom airfares at AirAsia now!!!

Other form of investment

All these while I thought only gold is worth investing in. Never in my entire life to know that we can actually invest in silver too! How ignorant I was! Well, it's never too late to learn what can fetch us some good money.

If you have been just as ignorant like myself, it is interesting to find out that silver is like other precious metal such as gold can fetch good price too. There are actually silver coins and ingots where we can invest in where the returns are pretty awesome.

Do you know that the world demand for silver has now exceeded the annual production and the above ground stockpiles of silver bullion are running low, shrinking rapidly and approaching zero very soon?? And if you want to invest in them, there is no better time than now! So hurry up before there's nothing left on the earth!

To learn how to invest in silver, check out Monex Deposit Company today!

A day @ the peak

Hubby took a few extra day off during our recent trip to KL for our little boy's birthday celebration. However, he still needs to work during our 1.5 weeks there. Beside attending a convention in KL for 2 days, he was off to Bangkok for 3 days so we can only plan for other activities after he returns from Bangkok.

We have planned earlier to spend a day trip at our popular highland resort, Genting Highlands and was glad we can stick to our plan. We drove up around 10am and arrived at the cable car station slightly after 11am. My parents, my son and myself took the cable car up whereas hubby drove the car to the peak and we met later.

The outdoor theme park

We have not been to Genting for more than 3 years and was surprised there were huge changes to the place. They have gone through a face lift of sort and the place is looking better than before. One of the places we enjoyed most is the newly refurbished Coffee Terrace located in Genting Hotel (where the casino is). We had our lunch there and it was one of the better buffet we have enjoyed so far.... price and taste.

The Coffee Terrace - best for buffet

The other new discovery is when we were on our way down hill. We made a stop at the Chin Swee Temple located half way down from the peak. The place has gone through a major face lift and now it even have a hotel and fine vegetarian dinning outlet.

Chin Swee Temple

If you have not been to the peak for sometime, it is good to check it out again as there are more fun for the entire family to enjoy now.... Cuti-cuti Malaysia!

Thank you.... again...

Well, I have said it in my other blog and I think I should say it here too since I get different visitors here.

I would like to thank all of you kind people for taking your precious time to visit this 'quiet' blog of mine. I have not been updating the 'actual' content for this blog which is about my traveling memories but rather filled it with paid posts. The reasons - I ran out of digitized photos and has no time to scan older photographs and digitize them.

In fact I've just brought back some of my old photo albums from my mom's place and hopefully, if time permits, scan them and up load them so I could blog about them.

Till then, I would like to say my sincere THANKS to all of you for hopping by....

Steel or aluminum?

The van that we had did not come with a van rack so now we have to get one to be attached on our van as we need to transport other bigger and longer items to the work sites. I've been looking around and make some comparisons on the quoted prices but most still do not meet our budget.

My boss also can't decide if he prefers the steel type or the aluminum type as their price differ quite a bit. Personally I would prefer to have those aluminum types as they are lighter but I also felt that the steel ones are more heavy duty.

Will check out more stores around here before we decide which and where to buy.

Best kitchen cleaner

I know not many people purchase products which were shown on TV by those direct marketing companies. However, I used to watch them and got so amazed by these products and I was really eager to get them to try them out.

One of those products that really attracted me is the Grease Bullet. Initially I don't believe it can be that effective but after trying them just like those as seen on tv advertisements, I have to agree. It was really that good that I totally give it a thumb up!

I'll have to say that Grease Bullet is the ultimate kitchen cleaner!

Heading to 'doom' land

After being promoted and demoted by Google a few weeks ago, this blog ranking is getting from bad to worst. Now I can't even get any task from that TigaP network for this blog at all. It was a total ZERO opp more than 2 weeks ago.

Even after they introduced their own ranking system, this blog's ranking is not anywhere better than before so chance to get opps is just as slim... And I think lesser people are dropping by too which contributed to the low page clicks... *sigh*

Is this blog's chance to make some moolah is heading towards doom land?

A healthy life starts from home

Every time around this year, we will start to look at ourselves and see if we have met our resolutions for the year. And very sad to say, there is always one thing that we failed to do... losing weight! Instead of shedding weight, we put on even more! *smack forehead*

Tonight while I was looking for something suitable to wear for a wedding dinner, I found everything that are in my wardrobe no longer fits me... it was such a disheartening moment. I can't believe I've put on so much weight within a year! Since I can't find anything suitable, I ended up wearing one of my 'kebaya' which I wore for my own wedding. It was so tight I have difficulty breathing for a moment!

I think I have to stick to the same resolution again next year! I must make it a point to slim down more by doing exercise at home and eat lesser. Probably I might need to invest in some home fitness equipments for this purpose...

Poor boss!

One of PiggyBeng's bosses was being relocated back to the States after just 2 years working in India. Not sure what were the reasons for the relocation but according to PiggyBeng, he wasn't doing too well in India so the company wanted him to be back to the Head Quarters instead.

The past few weeks he was busy with arranging for the move so PiggyBeng has to take over some of his jobs during the transition period. PiggyBeng was telling me he even helped his boss to contact the removal companies as coincidentally his boss's wife was pretty sick after an operation to remove her thyroid. Double whammy for his poor boss, really!

If I'm not wrong, PiggyBeng's boss has settled most of the stuff except his furniture removals which he was having second thoughts about. Probably he might want to donate to some of his wife's relatives in India since he don't need the extra set.

Good to have travel insurance

In the past, whenever we travel overseas, it never occurred to us to get any travel insurance. Most of the time we only relied on the inclusive insurance bored by the air tickets. However, things are so different these days and it is advisable to get one no matter how near the destination is.

We make it a point to get one even the airline does provide a small percentage. With the prevalent travel accidents as well as all the unexpected turns of events, it is better not to gamble our lives. For a small sum, we are assured we will get some form of compensation if we were involved in any kind of unexpected tragedies.

Troubled neigborhood

Was having a casual chat with my dad the other day about some happening about the neighborhood where my parents are staying. Dad told me recently there have been quite a few raids done by the narcotic officers a few blocks away from his house.

According to dad, there have been an increased of drug addicts activities lately as there were many foreigner workers living around the area due to the intense development. Not sure if those who were caught were sent to drug rehab or get repatriated home to their home countries. Hope the narcotic officers can clear off these problematic workers or else they will sure to create more troubles for the residents around the area.

What's on the menu during confinement?

My sister in law has just given birth and as she went through Cesarean section, there were quite a lot of stuff she can't eat. Especially for Chinese confinement practices, she supposed to take in a lot of ginger but due to the operation she has to refrain from eating them for a least a week.

Initially she has a confinement lady to help out but she left after a week. So now my sister in law's mom and my mom have to do the job. My mom will buy all the stuff and my sister in law's mom will do the cooking. Luckily I bought a recipes book during my confinement so now they can use the book as reference.

As my sister in law is quite picky on her food, my mom also has a hard time thinking of what to buy for them to cook and plan the menu. My mom did asked them if they will be fine with some family recipes as these are what we used to cook and eat during our confinement periods. We are from a different dialect group, so we have very different taste buds.

Newly refurbished hotel in town

Last week we spent 3 day and 2 night at the newly refurbished Grand Millennium Hotel which was called Regent Hotel before. This is a 5-star hotel located in the heart of the KL city, along Jalan Bukit Bintang. The best thing about this hotel is, it is located right next to the newest shopping sensation, The Pavilion.

Though the room is small but it is quite cozy and with most facilities. My little boy adores the outdoor swimming pool. The pool is of odd shape and located on the 3rd floor right next to the coffee house. Though it is surrounded by other tall buildings but we don't feel out of place at all.

Over all, we are quite satisfied with the hotel service except that we have to use the back door as they are still doing renovation works at the lobby area.

Astley Clarke for Mom

Mom have just celebrated her birthday a few weeks ago. As I was not around during her birthday, I can't join her for the birthday celebration my dad and brother threw for her. Then I was thinking what should I get for her this year as I will normally get her gold jewellery most of the time.

Then I thought about giving her something different this year. Suddenly I remembered about those beautiful designer jewellery I saw on Astley Clarke's site so I decided to take a peek. There were so many choices available and I just can't decide which actually suited mom best.

Knowing mom will like anything pearl, I checked out some fine designs and found this rather exquisite piece by Linda Bonovitz. It is so beautiful and I am sure mom will sure to like it.

Catching the Musical...

Though I am not a musical buff but I do like to catch one or two musicals if I have the chance. I find that watching a musical gave a different perspective in a 'show' as it really test the actors and actresses acting skills. What I thoroughly enjoyed are the props and the live special effects.

When we were in Las Vegas last year, I have very much wanted to catch Mama Mia but with a toddler around I have to give it a pass. Anyway, I do hope that someday I can get to catch this fabulous musical again. After all, now I can always get these Wicked tickets to all the musicals I like any time with TicketSolutions.com.

A great getaway

Next year my parents will be celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary. This year, we did not do anything special for them but just a simple celebration as there were some agendas. We were hoping next year we could give them something really special and memorable.

Mom and dad have not been to other parts of the US except the West Coast of US a few years back. And knowing they will like a good getaway, I was thinking of giving them a surprise at Branson Missouri. I'm sure they will love this fantastic idea!

New house, new TV and everything new

One of my cousin has just moved in to his new home. He or rather his dad bought this apartment which is located very near to a bustling area where there's a shopping mall and a lot of good food hunts around along Jalan Pudu.

My uncle ordered a plasma TV complete with a plasma stand and most of the furniture around the house for my cousin. I think my cousin is one of the luckiest person in on earth... as my uncle and his wife dotted on him so much! That guy is practically a parasite even though he's turning 30 soon!

My Checking Account

Ever since I left the work force, I stopped using my checking account as I do not see the need for it. Last time I used to pay for most of my stuff or bills with checks as it was one of the way for me to have a record for the payments I made over the months.

Now I do not need to make so much payments so I am using more of banking orders instead. Probably when I have more bills to pay then I shall reactivate my checking account again.

Rojak-rojak

I think this site is getting really 'rojak' with all the posts that are not so relevant with traveling, holidaying, sports or tourism news. I do feel bad as it is becoming a money making blog instead.

As I have so much to do, I do not have the time to edit my past vacations photos and when you talk about vacation, pictures speak a thousand words... When I don't have a photo to tell the story it's hard for me to describe... get what I mean?

This week I am totally tied up with my boy's 2nd birthday party planning and we will be away for almost 2 weeks so updating this blogs with more traveling news will have to wait till we are back.

So depressing!

Sometimes I wonder what is the difference between a PR2 and a PR 0. All this while I am having the big egg and yet I can still see some good offers. However, after it went up 2 notches, I find myself with no offers at all!

How can this be? Is everyone so deprives of offers that they starts to grab whatever is available? There seemed to be so many people/bloggers who are affected by this updating exercise in the past weeks.

I rather have my ZERO back if having a 2 don't give me any difference... at least I won't feel so depress! :(

Long life batteries

Currently we are using rechargeable batteries for our camera. Not sure why in the past few weeks, the batteries tend to run out faster than before. Could it be they have reached their 'time' after continuous usage for a few years?

Maybe we need to get lithium battery instead so we can have longer power up hours. It's a hassle to change batteries when we are in a middle of some photo shootings.

*hiaz*

*sob* *sob*

After so many months of waiting for this site to be ranked and was quite happy for about 3 weeks when it was ranked a 2. My happiness was short lived when I see the '?' appearing on my Check PR rank widget.

If they going to give me 1, might as well don't rank my site at all.... since I've been eating the big fat ZERO for so long... another few months won't make the difference... *hiaz*

Dreaming...

I don't know when can I ever have the chance to own one of those luxury homes by the beach or on top of the hill. I have always wanted a beach front or sea view house but the prices for these types of houses are far from my reach!

However, I do hope that someday I could strike the lottery or win the jackpot (though I hardly gamble) so I could at least realize this dream of mine. Well, it is always nice to dream a little dream... don't you think so?

Stock Video Library

Previously I was in the advertising industry. In most of our projects, we used a lot of stock images as well as videos for both below the line and above the line projects. Sometimes the clients will give us their images or videos but quite often we have to purchase from a third party stock library.

Normally we will go for those that are royalty free as we can reuse them for other projects. We do occasionally buy these from independent photographers or videographers as we can list our requirements. However, due to time constraint, we do go for those large stock libraries such as HD Stock Video Library by AlwaysHD for more generic images or videos.

Weekend blog marathon... again!

I really hate to say this but every weekend seems to be the time for me to catch up on all my paid postings. I know I am not supposed to make noise since I get paid for doing all these but I really hope I can be free for a weekend or two to catch up on rest or sleep.

For the past 3 weekends I have been working till the wee hours of the morning trying to complete the allocated tasks by some advertisers. Some have quite a number of words so it took me longer to cough out words...

Hopefully I can finished most of them before Friday...

Using sales leads for new businesses

If you are in a new business and are looking to expand it, one of the way is to do more targeted advertising and promotion activities. This is done so the type of client list generated will be more accurate and chances of getting sales will be higher.

There are many direct sales company that are offering very targeted Business Sales Leads where they can give a breakdown of the types of customers you hope to reach out to. The type of activities they exercise are such as customized mailing lists, telemarketing lists and fax lists to small business as well as Fortune 1000 clients.

With good leads, you can then do a more concentrate marketing activities to push sales. As such, there will be more successful 'closing the deal' opportunities.

Cute bathroom decor

My brother and his wife will be new parents soon and they are very excited about it. They have been getting ready by doing some home improvement in the house and make it more child safe and friendly.

They intend to do some minor renovation to one of their bathroom and my sister in law is actually looking for some cute rubber duck bathroom decor as one of the theme. Don't those duckies brighten up our days?

Installing a new mailbox

We have just received a new renovation work for a bungalow unit just nearby our place. The owner has wanted us to hack away his old compound walls and rebuild a new one with red bricks.

Since we will be hacking away the old wall, we have to remove his old mailbox which was built in one of the front wall. They have yet to choose which type of mailboxes they fancy so I will bring some catalogs for them to select in a few days time.

It's going to be HDTV for us

We or I have long wanted to have a HDTV for the house. However, the price for HDTVs are still very high now so dear hubby still refused to get one though our old TV has been giving us lots of problems lately. I don't want my boy to watch a flickering TV as that will harm his eyes.

Currently there are quite a few models of HDTVs on sale. I've been checking some of them out and among them I still like the Phillips brand. Not sure why but we have been using Phillips TV since yonks ago. And the phillips HDTV that I am keen on are having some bonus purchase which is really tempting! They are bundling a set of really cool speakers if we get it by end of this month.

Another week to go!

Wooohoooo!

In just one week time from today we will be traveling to KL again! This time beside celebrating our boy's big day, we will do quite a bit of sight seeing too. Hubby will be bringing us to the peak as Darrius has not been there before so it's going to be really fun!

And this time too we will be staying in a hotel in the heart of the city where all the actions are! Yeap... we are staying just across Planet Hollywood and next to Pavillion! Can't wait!

Great widget!

I must admit I'm a widget freak!

When I see some really cute or widgets or buttons, I will sure try to check them out if they are practical to be put on my site. Though must of them don't bring me $$$ but they are nice to be used as decorative... :P

Anyway, I found this really great widget a few days back and I just love the way it tracks my visitors. I've installed it in my main site and will be installing it to my other sites too.

Check out FeedJit today!

They are a threat if not treated

There have been quite a lot of horrible cases recently where kids are being kidnapped, raped and murdered. From the police reports, many of these perpetrators are mostly under drugs influenced hence they can do all these inhuman acts without feeling any guilt.

Some of them are being caught and sentenced to a jail term or face death. However there are some who are lucky enough to escape heavy sentence but has to go through drug treatment so they will not go back to do all those inhuman activities.

I can't believe...

...that I can write so many posts on so many topics in such a short span of time!

I have so many tasks pending which will be expired soon but I still can't think of much things to blabber about to fill those gaps. I just wish I could have more time to complete them and not let them 'poof' away...

Ok, a few more to go before I hit the sack!

Lose control...

A few years back, one of my good friends' mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer and has to be sent to the nursing home as my friend and her siblings have to work and can't be at home to take care of their mom. It was a huge blow to the family but they tried to do the best they could.

With this disease, my friend's mom often can't feel herself. There were many occasions where she lose control of her bladder and wet herself. Since my friend's mom is staying full time at the nursing home, the caretaker has requested that my friend's mom to put on protective underwear. That was another blow as it ate in more into their expenses apart from the monthly fees they need to pay the nursing home.

Capella - Your Online University

Both my hubby and myself have a few soon to be university going cousins and very often they will come to us for some advices. Many of them are quite confused with the huge amount of courses available and have difficulty selecting the the university of their choice.

Sometimes also due to financial constraint, they are being restricted to apply to their preferred course of study. We do sympathized with them but this is something that is not our control. Therefore we do advice them to look for other alternative options.

We do suggest to them to try taking their degree courses from some online universities such as the popular capella university which is an accredited and fully online university is offering quite a wide array of courses from business studies to psychology. However, the choice is still depends on them.

A nice surprise

This blog is one of the quietest so far as I do not really promote this site that much. What I wrote here is mainly for my to recapture on the places I traveled to, some of the exciting stuff I did in the past and interesting people I met and etc...

And I am glad I have quite a few of people or strangers dropping by once in a blue moon. It was so nice of them to even requested me to exchange links which I will gladly comply.

Today I've got someone with a PR6 came by and asked me to exchange link which really surprises me. Just want to thank Chez Francine and also Irel who came by and give this humble site of mine a few clicks of support....

And for those who are my blogging-mama friends, I truly appreciate your support too! It is so nice to have all of you that we can continue to make $$$ with our sites.

*flicker* *flicker*

*flicker* *flicker*

That was what happened to our bathroom light last night when I was about to take my shower. I tried switching it off and on a few times but the flickering continue so I told hubby to take a look.

He went to check and took down the entire bulb and exchange with the one in our dining room. The flickering continue. Then he switched the starter and the same thing happened. So we have no clue what is wrong with the light.

I quickly took my shower with the help of our dining room's light. As it was still early, we went to get some new bathroom lights from the hypermarket near our place. If not, Darrius will make a fuss when I need to clean him up before bed.

Staying near to Disney World

When hubby told me that he might have a short job stint in the US later this year, I was jumping with joy. Crazy me had even started with planning for the trip. As the duration was for about 3 months, it gave us quite a good time to take some short tours around.

I was telling hubby that I die-die must visit Disney World as I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Disneyland in Los Angeles last year. Was telling him I wanted to see everything and play every possible rides available! And if the trip do materialized, then Darrius can also enjoy since he knows more things now and can related who is Mickey and Donald.

Hubby even passed me some links where we can get Orlando Hotel Discounts should we have the chance to travel to Orlando. This time round we will choose a hotel that is closest to Disney World so we can catch the fireworks which we had missed!

Oh gosh!

I think I have to spam this blog for a while as I have a huge load of $$$ posts waiting to be churned out! Yeah, more blog marathon!

Well, I shouldn't be complaining as these will bring me some returns which will be put in good use. However, need to put in a lot of rojak posts just to cover up as the interims are part of the T&C from the advertisers...

Saturday, November 3, 2007

So tired...

... yet I want to blog on as I have quite a few of unfinished tasks pending.

I hardly get more than six hours of sleep a day for the past one week. Blame it on my greed! I think I waste a lot of time filtering the opportunities available. Then still need to churn out interims in between...

Well, for the sake of $$$... I need to persevere...

When getting a car...

After I got my driving license, I was contemplating if I should get my own car. Though my aunt was fine for letting me use hers but I felt uncomfortable to have to keep bugging her every time I want to go somewhere. She might need to use the car.

So, I got my uncle to bring me to the car sale yard around Cannington and near by suburbs so I could scout for one that I like. However, being a novice, I can't decide which model or car brand I should go for since I have never own a car before.

If I have known of Private Fleet's Novated Leases, then I won't have to go through all the doubts when trying to decide on my set of wheels. With the lease, I could arrange for repayment with my boss then.

The smallest lift and room!

Of all the hotels and motels I've ever stayed before in Europe, the one in Paris was by far the smallest of them all! Even the entrance to the hotel is by the small lane next to the building.

What amazed us was their lift. It was about 1 meter by 0.5 meter only! So, imagine if you're fat or have those over sized luggage... you can't even get it!

The smallest lift

Then when we got to the room, it was also very small and compact. The toilet can only nicely fit one person and not more... but still bigger than the one in First World Hotel in Genting... however, this is a combined toilet and bathroom so it has slightly more space.

Smallest room

You gain as a member

When I go shopping or dining at the regular places, I always make sure I am one of their loyalty card holders as this will get me more saving in the long run. Though many of them do not offer cash rebates but in cash voucher form which is good enough since I can always use them to purchase more things at that merchant.

In fact more and more merchants are participating in webloyalty programs to retain more customers. With such program, customer are more willing to return to the merchant as they can get more discounts or rebates on their purchases. This also helps to lessen monthly expenditure for some families.

So far so good!

I can't tell you how happy I was with my surfing experience now ever since we installed FireFox on our PC. This is especially when I need to reserve tasks at some sites. I used to get error messages whenever I click on the submit button which can be really irritating and frustrating!

After hearing my endless grumbling, PiggyBeng has wanted to install it onto my old notebook computer as he was afraid that FireFox might clashed with some of the programs in our PCs. However, so far so good! I am keeping my fingers crossed for sure!

Get Spock-ed!

Have you ever tried looking for a long lost friend or a long lost crush on the Internet? Do you know that you can actually use Spock to do the job? Spock is actually a people search application that find people on the Internet by crawling for information through bio pages, social networks, news sites, blogs and directories. However, Spock is not a social network such as Facebook, MSN or Yahoo!.

Spock is a technology where it organizes web contents about people into easily understood search results where it then search for information on web in all imaginable ways. And when you join the Spock community, it will even enhanced your search experience by using tags, pictures or web links. For example, if you are looking for 'chef of the year', you will get a whole list of data (websites) that has relation to the searched information. It is pretty interesting as you'll get to see all kinds of data that ping back with the search results.

This is one of the better ways to find and locate people who you have lost touch with, sharing same interest, related in some way or many other reasons! The best thing is, you can always update your information and add to all your search results.

The brainchild behind this unique application are Jay and Jaideep who were so frustrated with fragmented people search experience in the past. Don't you dare to think Spock is just another web crawler! In fact they have already received funding from Clearstone Venture Partners as well as Opus Capital Ventures to move the company forward. The team has even grown to include engineers and scientists from top schools such as Stanford, Berkeley, MIT, Caltech, Princeton, and Carnegie Mellon.

And to proof how Spock has rocked the Internet, they were selected as Best of Show at the prestigious Web 2.0 conference as well as for PC Magazine's top 25 websites to watch in 2007.

It's the season for gifts from the heart

The jolly season is here again and for many of us, shopping for Christmas is one of the most exciting yet tiring experience. I remembered those times when I will shop non stop, hopping from one mall after another just so I can complete my long list! Practically I spent most of my weekends leading up to Christmas... shopping.

When it comes to shopping for my ladies friends or colleagues, it can be quite a headache as everyone has different taste. Also, I like getting stuff that are useful for them and not just buying them something for the sake of gift exchange or whatever it may be. I prefer to give something that is from the heart. Some of my girlfriends adores designer jewellery as they like to match it with their dresses.

There was this year where I bought a gold jewellery set for my best friend and a silver jewellery set for a very close work mate. They we both surprised and happy to receive my gifts as they never expected that I would give them something so expensive. Well, Christmas is the season to be jolly mah!

Firefly is flying to Singapore too!

I can't believe this! Not only one but two budget airlines will be flying to Singapore! With the open skies agreement both AirAsia and Firefly will have a chance to bring passengers from a few major cities in Malaysia to the Lion City. That mean we can get really competitive rates for our Singapore trips in the future!

News report from The Star on 30 Oct 2007:

SUBANG: Now that AsiaAsia can fly to Singapore, national carrier Malaysia Airlines’ subsidiary Firefly may follow suit.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy said that the Government “would certainly give serious consideration” for the national carrier’s subsidiary to fly to the republic from its hub in Subang.

It was a bilateral issue and he would have to raise the matter with his Singapore counterpart at the Asean Transport Ministers Meeting on Thursday, he told newsmen after receiving Firefly’s inaugural flight from Penang, which arrived at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport here at 8am yesterday.

The Cabinet last week agreed to give no-frills carrier AirAsia and Singapore’s Tiger Airways Pte Ltd the go-ahead to start flights between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

MAS expressed disappointment over the opening of the KL-Singapore route on a limited basis and had asked that its 100%-owned Firefly be allowed to fly to Singapore from Subang.

Chan said that the decision to allow Firefly to operate from Subang was an extension of the Government’s earlier policy of only allowing turbo propeller aircraft to operate at the airport.

“After we moved (airlines operations) to KL International Airport, the Government continuously enhanced its position as a hub. But we allowed some operations by turbo propeller aircraft at the Subang airport, such as Berjaya Air,” he said when asked why Firefly was allowed to fly from Subang when an earlier request by rival AirAsia was rejected.

Firefly started operations six months ago, flying from Penang to Langkawi, Kota Baru, Kuala Terengganu, Kuantan, Phuket and Koh Samui. Effective yesterday, it commenced twice daily flights between Subang and Penang.

Firefly managing director Eddy Leong said that the Government had also given it the green light to operate from Johor Baru and Kota Kinabalu, adding that Firefly now could link up with many domestic destinations and cities in Indonesia and southern Thailand.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad managing director Datuk Seri Bashir Ahmad said that refurbishment of the Subang airport would be completed in December.

Best to be out of debt

With today's volatile money market, we have to be really careful when it comes to managing our finances. One of the thing we should not get ourselves into is mounting on debt. Many young people are not aware of this situation as many has not experience the hardship of repaying loans or debts.

The escalating problem where youngsters are being trapped by mounting credit card debts has caused many to declare bankruptcy as their low salaries are just not enough to make the repayments. In fact many of these youngsters are covering one hole with another cover by owning a few credit cards. This is extremely damaging as it can cause a lot of negative outcomes.

When the debts problem increases, this will also effects the banking industry. Therefore, more banks and financial institutions are coming out with debt advice services to counter this problems.

This is really troublesome and to be really honest, I don't have that much to yak about in the wee hours of the morning. All I want is to complete these tasks and see my $$$.... *sigh*

Again, this is a capalang post for the day.... maybe more to come! LOL

2 more days to Halloween!

I can't believe it that the creepy season is here again! I really miss the Halloween celebration which we had in Los Angeles last year. It was one of the most eye opening experience we ever had. Even I have stayed in Australia before, the entire atmosphere is different.

What the Americans do on Halloween day is really... out of this world! I just can't describe it for what we see and feel can be describe with words... It was a whole new experience.

Too bad we can't be in the US this year for this celebration.... Hope we will get another chance soon!

Another way to invest

Recently there have been some news saying that the US dollar will have another drop soon. Not so sure how reliable is this piece of news but if you are into forex investment you might want to reconsider other type of investments and not put all your eggs in the same basket.

Currently many people has started to buy gold coins or gold ingots as an alternative way to invest. As gold prices seldom drop but instead rises all the time, making it a very atrractive way to invest.

The value of gold coins do not flactuate like currencies make it very stable and more investors are looking into buying more of such coins as investment. It is especially useful should another war break out.

Hoooray!

Was so happy when I got the news earlier that my main site has been promoted by Google from a page rank of ZERO to a THREE after such a long time. It has been more than half a year that Google finally update some of the site's ranking.

By having a higher Google ranking is of course something to rejoice about as this mean I could get better review offers from relevant advertisers... which might help fund my future trips so i could write more stories about my adventures.

Would like to thank all my regular visitors as well as all my supporter who take time to drop by and give my pages some clicks. This will not happen without all of your support! Thanks!!!

Bonjour!

From Milan we took a train to France and visited 3 places. Our first stop in France is Lyon where we spent two nights, then to Avignon for a night and lastly to Paris for two nights as well. We already pre-booked our hotels in paris before we depart since it's beginning of spring and we were afraid we might not be able to get any rooms as it is the beginning of high season.

Eiffel Tower @ night
.
After staying so many nights within France, we found that most of the mid range hotels in France are pretty small in size. Especially the hotel we stayed in Paris... it was so small that we had two single beds cramped together. Nevertheless, they are all very nice hotels with friendly people. And I must say, dining in France is way better than the other countries we have visited.
.

Arc de Triomphe

We got around Paris with public transport. They have this whole day train ticket that cost about 3€ per person and we get unlimited rides within a day. That means we spent most of our time walking... There were lots of beautiful parks around besides all the iconic buildings. We visited a few museums and churches too.

Of course not forgetting about the shopping malls we visited. In fact I bought my LV bag in the Galerries La Fayette in the heart of Paris! I don't think it was any cheaper there but since we were there, might as well! We did not manage to catch any fashion shows as we were too busy sight seeing but we did managed to see many beautiful people around! PiggyBeng bought two bottle of wines from one of the shop but it was such a pity I can't sip together with him as I was preggy then!

More Christmas presents for him...

Sometimes it an be a real headache when it comes to shopping for the men. Every time I entered the Men section of the departmental store I can't seem to find anything suitable. With Christmas round the corner, I have to start my shopping for the few men in my life...

Since my hubby is doing more business trips, I figured he will need more formal shirts. After all, he hardly shop for shirts as he is such a picky person when it comes to clothing. He wanted his shirts to be 100% cotton, hopefully criss free and of good quality too. Yeah, he is one hard to please person I've ever met! Not sure if I should get him some ties to go along as I just got him one for his birthday last year. He hardly put on one anyway.
Then I wanted to get my dad a few casual shirts as the one that he bought himself are all so 'uncle' looking! Dad don't looked his age so I told him he can still wear clothing that have designs
that are not so old fashion or 'uncle' looking. Intend to get my brother a pair of cufflinks as he doesn't have any. Saw him wearing his shirts and I think a nice set of cuff will look great on him.

Guess this Christmas my pocket will have a bigger hole!
